If you’ve ever watched a traceur navigate a complex urban environment, you know that Parkour is as much about mental geometry as it is about physical prowess. It’s the art of finding the most efficient path from point A to point B. But what happens when point A is a concrete ledge and point B requires a precision backflip?
That’s where the trampoline comes in. Far from being just a backyard toy, the trampoline is
perhaps the most effective “training lab” for anyone looking to master the art of movement.
Airborne Trampoline KW has been the leader in trampoline – recreational and competitive – since 2011!
The Science of Air Awareness for Parkour Athletes
In Parkour, the outdoor ground is unforgiving. If you miscalculate a rotation on asphalt, the stakes are high. On a high-performance trampoline, however, you have the luxury of extended
airtime. And, in our new Parkour facility you will have the luxury of spring floors and mats. By bouncing, you gain precious seconds of weightlessness. This allows your brain to map out
where your body is in space—a skill known as proprioception. Whether you’re perfecting a side-flip or a full-twist, the trampoline allows you to build the muscle memory required to stick the landing without the impact-related fatigue of training on hard surfaces.
Building “Bulletproof” Joints
Parkour is a higher-impact sport. Constant jumping and landing can take a toll on your knees and ankles. Training on a trampoline provides a low-impact environment to strengthen the stabilizing muscles around your joints, and is the perfect accompaniment to a Parkour Athletes training. The elastic surface forces your core to engage constantly to maintain balance, creating a “functional strength” that translates directly to the explosive power needed for wall runs and long-distance precisions.
A New Era of Movement: Airborne Trampoline KW x Parkour
For years, Airborne Trampoline KW has been the go-to destination for those looking to defy gravity in Kitchener-Waterloo. We’ve watched our community grow, evolve, and push the
boundaries of what’s possible on a trampoline bed. Now, it’s time to take that energy to the streets—well, the safer indoor version of them!
We are thrilled to announce that Airborne Trampoline KW will be officially launching a business dedicated to Parkour Athletes by July 2026.
Why the Expansion?
We believe that trampoline and Parkour are two sides of the same coin. While the trampoline teaches you how to move in the air, Parkour teaches you how to move through the world. By
integrating these two disciplines under one roof, we are creating a holistic movement center.
Our new facility will feature:
- Custom-built obstacles: Designed to mimic urban environments with modular blocks, rails, and slanted walls.
- Complementary training zones: You can seamlessly transition from trampoline classes to Parkour classes, allowing you to practice complex combos in a safer, padded environment.
- Expert coaching: Our staff will bridge the gap between aerial acrobatics and ground-based agility.
What This Means for You
Whether you are a seasoned traceur looking for a safe place to drill new tricks or a beginner who has always wanted to try “The Office” style parkour (minus the refrigerators), our new expansion is built for you. By July 2026, you won’t just be jumping at Airborne; you’ll be climbing, vaulting, and swinging.
